Blackened American Whiskey is a collaboration between master distiller Dave Pickerell and Metallica. It's a blend of hand selected, well aged North American bourbon and rye whiskeys, finished in black brandy casks and, fittingly, the sound of Metallica's music.
Using a proprietary Black Noise finishing process, each batch is exposed to its own Metallica playlist, curated by the band. The low frequency sound waves push the whiskey deeper into the barrel, pulling out more caramel, honey, and vanilla from the wood. The result is a well balanced whiskey with plenty of flavor, good for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in a classic whiskey cocktail.
Tasting Notes: Burnt caramel, oak, and honey lead the nose, while the palate brings honey, cinnamon, allspice, dark fruit, clove, and mint. The finish is long and smooth, slightly creamy, with hints of butterscotch, maple, and honey.
